The Ohio Hoopsters Basketball Club is a 501(c)(3) organization and member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The club consists of a girls and boys AAU program a Developmental program which includes two fall leagues. The Ohio Hoopsters Basketball Club serves over 350 girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 17.

Mission Statement

Encourage student athletes to demonstrate a commitment to academics and community, character building, and focus on teamwork. Promote and encourage a competitive edge and the development of young athletes into productive citizens on and off the court.

Club Goal

As a club it is our goal to not only develop great basketball players, it is also our goal to be a partner in the development of communities, and community leaders through basketball.

History of the Ohio Hoopsters Basketball Club

The Ohio Lady Hoopsters (formally All-Ohio) was founded by Edward “Eddie” Guice in 1995 with 10 teams.  16 years later the organization has grown considerably. In 2011 Eddie joined forces with Lamont Tillman and Anthony “Tony” Lavender to recreate a similar program for boys call the Ohio Hoopsters.

Eddie has coached for the past 17 years as a high school coach at Westerville North, an AAU coach and program administrator. Eddie is currently the director of the Ohio Lady Hoopsters, which is an Adidas sponsored program.

Lamont Tillman, Ohio Hoopsters Boys Program Co-Director and Director of Developmental Youth Basketball Leagues and Camps. Over the past 10 years Lamont has coached players on various levels including 2 years in the IBL (semi-pro league). Professionally, Lamont brings his experience as a program director for WrightChoice, Inc., where he prepared young people for college and the workforce. Lamont also has coaching experience on the high school and professional levels in Central Ohio.

Tony Lavender, Ohio Hoopsters Boys Program Co-Director. Tony comes to the program with 15 years of College, High School, and AAU coaching and administration experience.
